Plaintiff, Brenda Calhoun, filed this action in the circuit court of Peoria County against defendant, Karl R. Jumer, alleging in counts IV and VIII that defendant's sexual abuse of her minor son, Waylon Calhoun (W.C.), caused emotional distress to plaintiff. Following a hearing on November 4, 1996, the court granted defendant's motion to dismiss those counts of the complaint for failure to state a cause of action....
