CHAVEZ, Justice.

Appellant Frank Flores Cuellar was convicted of intoxication manslaughter and driving while intoxicated. The intoxication manslaughter charge was tried first, and, after the jury trial on that charge was completed, proceedings commenced on the driving while intoxicated charge.
