The issues in this case concern the liability of appellant, Harris County ("the County"), for retaliatory discharge under former article 8307c of the Workers' Compensation Act ("the Anti-Retaliation Law"). Appellee, Linda Louvier ("Louvier"), sued the County and Ray Hardy, former Harris County District Clerk ("Hardy"), alleging they violated former article 8307c by firing Louvier after she suffered a workplace injury.
