The sole issue in this certified appeal is whether an attorney representing a minor child in connection with a custody dispute may advocate a position that is contrary to that of the child's guardian ad litem. The plaintiff, Cheryl Schult, brought this dissolution of marriage action against the defendant, Jeffrey Scot Schult, seeking, inter alia, custody of their only child.
