Appellant Donn H. Behl II, a 16-year-old, was indicted by a grand jury on six criminal counts, including premeditated first-degree murder, Minn.Stat. § 609.185(1). A jury found Behl not guilty of the first-degree murder charge, but found him guilty of three criminal counts, including the lesser included offense of second-degree manslaughter in violation of Minn.Stat. § 609.205, subd. 1.
