On 27 June 1990, at approximately 6:00 p.m., plaintiff was operating a 1983 Datsun automobile in a southerly direction on Kildaire Farm Road in the Town of Cary, North Carolina. At that time and place, plaintiff slowed his vehicle in response to traffic that was stopped ahead of him in his lane of travel. Defendant Heinz Gunther Olf negligently drove his vehicle into the rear end of plaintiff's automobile...
