On July 25, 1995, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Deputy Sheriff John Daniel of the Worth County Sheriff's Department was on his way to serve a warrant and was driving on Pope Street, approaching the intersection with Westberry Street, when he saw a white car run the stop sign at a high rate of speed.
