Plaintiff, Marian Darby, first saw defendant, Doctor Edward Gilkey, in 1987. She saw him again several times in 1990 on the advice of her rheumatologist who wanted her to seek out a family doctor for her arthritis. In March of 1991, plaintiff lost partial vision and consulted with neurologists Dr. Vegari and Dr. Kerrigan to further evaluate her condition.
