Defendant, Shawn David Stepp, was charged by bill of information with armed robbery in violation of La. R.S. 14:64. A unanimous jury found defendant guilty as charged and the trial court sentenced defendant as an habitual offender to 99 years at hard labor, without the benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.
