On February 25, 1992, defendant, Cornell Cooper, was charged by bill of information with one count of armed robbery, a violation of La.R.S. 14:64. On that same day defendant was arraigned and pled not guilty. On May 12, 1992, defendant was tried by a jury and found guilty of the responsive verdict of simple robbery. On October 20, 1992, defendant was adjudicated a fourth felony habitual offender, and was sentenced to fifty years at hard labor on...
