The State's evidence tended to show that on 11 July 1994, James Morana was working alone at the House of Eyes, a freestanding kiosk in the business of selling sunglasses and optical frames, located in a Greensboro shopping mall. The kiosk was approximately fifteen feet by twenty feet in area and consisted of cabinets and display areas which enclosed all four sides except for one small entryway.
