After the plaintiff was fired by the defendant, she filed a complaint in the Superior Court alleging wrongful termination on the grounds that her discharge constituted a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C. §§ 215(a) (3) and 216(b) (1988), and the public policy which permits an employee to report an alleged criminal violation by her employer to the police.
