Respondent John Keith Pike was charged with gross misdemeanor driving while under the influence and misdemeanor driving after revocation. See Minn.Stat. §§ 169.129; 169.121, subds. 1(a), 3(c)(1); 171.24, subd. 2 (1994). After an omnibus hearing, the trial court found that the initial stop was unlawful and suppressed all evidence obtained as a result of the stop.
