In 1987, condemnor Department of Transportation filed a condemnation petition acquiring.615 acres of land located on the east side of Interstate 75. The land was owned by condemnee Chevron U.S.A., Inc. and leased to condemnee Norman Jack Pitman, who operated a Chevron station on the land.
