The defendant, Gerald Gerardi, was convicted of possession of a machine gun for an aggressive and offensive purpose in violation of General Statutes § 53-202 (c),1 which provides: "Any person who possesses or uses a machine gun for an offensive or aggressive purpose shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars or imprisoned not...
