This case concerns who is responsible for the crash of Northwest Flight 255 on August 16, 1987, the second-worst aviation disaster in American history. The crash killed one hundred fifty-four passengers and crew, and two bystanders. A jury found that Northwest Airlines was liable for one hundred percent of the injuries and deaths caused by the crash. Northwest appeals.
