Bularz brought this defamation action against his former employer, Prudential Insurance Company of America (Prudential), in Wisconsin state court, alleging that several employees of Prudential had made defamatory statements about his business practices. Prudential removed the suit to federal district court on the basis of diversity of citizenship, and asserted a counterclaim alleging that Bularz had made misrepresentations...
