On February 21, 1996, plaintiff in the above-titled action filed two separate lawsuits in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri against defendant American Airlines, Inc. ("American") for the death of her parents, Benjamin and Mercedes Ramirez. Plaintiff brought the action pursuant to Mo. Rev.Stat. § 537.080 ("Missouri Wrongful Death Statute").
