On May 8, 1993, Robyn Goring ("Goring") was stabbed to death in the apartment she shared with appellant John Kilioi Miller ("Miller") and their two children. Maria Jordan ("Jordan"), an officer on the Las Vegas police force, lived in the apartment directly below Goring and Miller's apartment.
