The issue presented today is novel to Florida criminal jurisprudence. Defendant argues that a determination by a United States Bankruptcy Judge in his Chapter 13 case is determinative as to the amount of restitution he can be obligated to pay the victim of his criminal conduct, notwithstanding the trial court's assessment of a higher amount as part of his criminal sentence.
