In October 1993 Cindy M. Posey filed a complaint, alleging negligent and wanton misconduct on the part of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (Wal-Mart); Melissa Mangrum, an employee of Wal-Mart; certain fictitious defendants; and Sammie Hester.
