On February 28, 1992, Chicago Fireman Woody Woods was shot and killed as he sat in his truck parked at an outdoor bank automated teller machine. Defendant, Ellis Patterson, was indicted for Woods' murder in the first-degree. Following a jury trial, defendant was convicted and sentenced to 40 years in prison.
