This dispute arises from the grounding of the tanker BT Nautilus, an 811 foot oil tanker owned by appellant Nautilus Motor Tanker Co., Ltd. ("Nautilus"). That grounding caused approximately 230,000 gallons of fuel oil to spill into the Kill van Kull waterway in Bayonne, New Jersey.
