On May 5, 1994, the Jefferson Parish Grand Jury filed a bill of indictment charging defendant Rene Rolland with aggravated rape, a violation of La.R.S. 14:42. At his arraignment on June 17, 1994, defendant pled not guilty. Subsequently, on August 22, 1994, defendant withdrew his not guilty plea and, pursuant to a plea bargain, pled guilty to one count of forcible rape, a violation of La.R.S. 14:42.1, and one count of aggravated incest, a violation...
