BROWN, Judge.

Defendant Bruce Famous was convicted of one count of possession of more than 28 grams of cocaine, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967(F)(1)(a). Famous was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment at hard labor to be served consecutively to any other sentence, and fined the mandatory minimum of $50,000. Five years of the sentence were imposed without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence pursuant to LSA-R.S. 40:967(G). Famous now appeals his conviction...
