The defendant, Barry Baker, was charged by bill of information with one count of distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, cocaine, in violation of R.S. 40:967 A. He proceeded to jury trial in which he was found guilty as charged. The district court sentenced him to 10 years in prison at hard labor.
