John Q. Hammons is the owner of the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City, Missouri. On the evening of July 20, 1992, the parking garage of the Capitol Plaza flooded. Vera Rust's car was damaged in the flood. Ms. Rust sued the hotel, contending that the hotel was negligent in failing to warn her that the garage was susceptible to flooding, and that the hotel failed...
