The defendant, Rickey Junior Crews, was charged by bill of information with one count of possession of marijuana in excess of sixty pounds, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966 E(1), and one count of conspiracy to distribute marijuana, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:979 and LSA-R.S. 40:966. The trial court denied a motion to suppress evidence and the defendant was subsequently convicted as charged. On the possession count, the trial court sentenced the defendant...
