RICHARDS, Justice.

Appellant Lloyd E. Humphreys was convicted in federal court on various counts of tax evasion. Humphreys's conviction was affirmed on direct appeal. United States v. Humphreys, 982 F.2d 254 (8th Cir.1992), cert. denied, 510 U.S. 814, 114 S.Ct. 61, 126 L.Ed.2d 31 (1993). The Texas Supreme Court subsequently disbarred him. In re Humphreys, 880 S.W.2d 402
