Defendant, David Fornear, was charged in a December 1, 1993, indictment with aggravated battery with a firearm (720 ILCS 5/12-4.2 (West 1992)) and aggravated discharge of a firearm (720 ILCS 5/24-1.2(a)(2) (West 1992)), in that he discharged a pistol and caused injury to Michelle Wilkinson (the victim). On February 2, 1994, a second indictment was filed, which added charges of unlawful use of a weapon (UUW) (720 ILCS...
