On December 12, 1995, J.W.S., Jr., and D.M.S.1 sued for custody of D.C.C., born on December 10, 1995, for the purpose of adopting the infant. On the same day, the child's unmarried natural parents, C.C.W. and C.T.C., consented to the transfer of custody and adoption.
