This Court issued the writ of certiorari to determine whether a person's fists can be "deadly weapons" or "dangerous instruments" under the definitions of these terms in § 13A-1-2(11) and (12), Ala.Code 1975. Donald Lee Cobb was convicted of assault with a dangerous instrument for hitting an adult female in the face with his fists.
