Betty Jass underwent knee replacement surgery but was dissatisfied with the result. She sued Prudential Health Care Plan ("PruCare"), the administrator of her husband's employee benefit plan, and Karen Margulis, a nurse employed by PruCare, for vicarious liability and negligence.
