OPINION

RICHARDS, Justice.

On the advice of its general counsel, MDI in 1985 hired the law firm Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff & Miller to prosecute a lawsuit against a competitor. In 1989, this court reversed a $4+ million award to MDI in an unpublished opinion. In 1991, MDI filed suit asserting claims for legal malpractice and DTPA violations.
