George Studnicka appeals his conviction and sentence for grand theft. We affirm in part and reverse in part.

On January 20, 1988, Studnicka was charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and grand theft for certain property taken between February 12, 1983 and May 22, 1983.
