This case presents us with the question whether and under what circumstances the Superior Court may award joint legal custody to the unmarried parents of a child.1 We hold that joint legal custody is also a permissible arrangement in the context of unmarried parents, which may be ordered by the trial court in its discretion on the basis of articulated reasoning considering the relevant factors.
