We granted defendants' interlocutory appeal to resolve the appropriate method of appeal and standard of review where a zoning ordinance does not provide for an appeal to a zoning board of appeals from an unfavorable decision by a township board regarding a request for a special land-use permit. We hold that in such a case the decision of the township board is final and that the appropriate appellate forum is the circuit court, which must review...
