This case arose from the divorce of the Appellant, Tammera L. Smith, and the Appellee, Clyde Ellsworth Smith, III. The Circuit Court of Berkeley County entered an equitable distribution order finding, among other things, that the appreciation in value of the Appellee's separately owned stock in a closely held corporation was separate property.
