The trial court adopted the jury's findings that appellant Habilitative Services, Inc. (HSI), discharged its employee, respondent Rita Cannon, because she had made reports pursuant to Minn.Stat. § 626.557 (1992), the Vulnerable Adults (VA) Act, and that Cannon had suffered damages of $5,582.50 for loss of earnings and $75,000 for pain, suffering, and mental anguish.
