OPINION

DAUPHINOT, Justice.

Appellant, John Arthur Rodda, was convicted of one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child in cause number 0518737D and of indecency with a child in cause number 0518730D. The jury sentenced him to a life sentence in each case on all counts.

At trial, Rodda insisted on representing himself, but standby counsel was provided and participated...
