MARKMAN, Presiding Judge.

Plaintiff's filed a negligence action, asserting that defendant failed in its duty to maintain a highway "in reasonable repair so that it is reasonably safe and convenient for public travel." M.C.L. § 691.1402; M.S.A. § 3.996(102). The case was tried to the bench in the Wayne Circuit Court, which granted judgment in favor of plaintiff's. We reverse.1
