Background

This is an action for recovery of response costs incurred in connection with the cleanup of a facility known as the Metamora Landfill Site ("the Site") brought pursuant to Section 107 of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act ("CERCLA"), 42 U.S.C. § 9607, as amended by the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 ("SARA").
