This is a workers' compensation case in which the hearing officer originally awarded the plaintiff, Sarah Gallien, medical treatment, including an independent medical examination, as a result of a work related injury. The hearing officer also awarded Gallien penalties and attorney's fees as a result of the defendant's, Winn-Dixie Louisiana, Inc., arbitrary and capricious handling of her claim.
