A writ was granted in these four consolidated cases involving the application of the Louisiana Seizure and Controlled Dangerous Substances Property Forfeiture Act of 1989 (Forfeiture Act) as contained in La.R.S. 40:2601-2622. The State filed forfeiture proceedings in Lafayette Parish in four separate actions against Brenda and Michael Clark, Arvin Jones, Jason Foret, and Larry Clayton.
