The defendant, Vickie C. Brantley, pled guilty to one count of theft of $500.00 or more, a violation of La.R.S. 14:67(B)(1). After an extensive sentencing hearing, the court sentenced the defendant to serve five years imprisonment at hard labor (four years suspended and one year to be served "without good time") and five years supervised probation conditioned upon employment and restitution of $79,388.31. The court also fined the defendant $3,000.00...
