After a jury trial, Kenneth York (Defendant) was convicted of the class A felony of forcible rape, § 566.030, RSMo Supp.1992, and armed criminal action, § 571.015, RSMo 1986. He was sentenced as a prior and persistent offender to life imprisonment for rape and fifty years for armed criminal action, the sentences to be served consecutively.
