On November 21, 1992 at approximately 8:00 P.M. three men, with faces covered, broke into the home of Lisa Santiago in the City of Schenectady, Schenectady County. Present in the home were Santiago, her three children and her friends Nelson Medina and Jovino Valenzuela.
