The defendant, Larry Charbert Hayes, was convicted by a jury of unlawful possession of 900 grams or more of a substance containing cocaine (720 ILCS 570/402(a)(2)(D) (West 1992)) and unlawful possession with intent to deliver 900 or more grams of a substance containing cocaine (720 ILCS 570/401(a)(2)(D) (West 1992)).
