This case arises from an employment relationship between the plaintiff, Jesse Leger, and the defendant, Tyson Foods, Inc. (Tyson). Leger was laid-off pursuant to a restructuring plan implemented by Tyson in the spring of 1992. He brought this suit alleging that Tyson had breached its obligation to him by not adhering to its seniority policy contained in its employee manual or handbook.
