Following a jury trial in November 1994, defendant was convicted of four counts of sexual abuse in the first degree committed on July 28, 1989, when he subjected his two seven-year-old nieces to sexual contact (1) by forcible compulsion and (2) at a time when they were less than 11 years of age.
